National Illicit Drug Stragegy (NIDS)

The YETI Adolescent Drug Treatment Program is the only drug and alcohol program for youth in the Cairns Region. This program provides appropriate and effective treatment interventions for young people between the age of 12 - 25 who are 'at risk' of or engaging in the use of illicit drugs. Primarily these people are wishing to reduce, cease or become safer within that use. The interventions are provided within a holistic, empowerment and strength based model of care.

This program is flexible, innovative and youth orientated and continually aims to meet the needs of the individual, group and/or community. This program takes on primarily the role of prevention, cessation, intervention and harm minimisation through effective information giving and interventions.
